Registry Provider Guidelines: Q & A
Hello.
We received your application to join PASC Homecare Registry. If approved, Consumers will contact you. If you have any questions, you can email info@pascla.org
What happens after my application is approved?
If you indicated on your application that you are currently looking for work, the Registry will try to give your name and contact information to IHSS Consumers who are looking for providers.
How soon can I expect to start receiving calls about available homecare jobs?
We cannot tell. It all depends on the number of Consumers who are seeking providers within your geographical area, needing the kinds of services you are willing to provide, and for a schedule that matches your availability.
Will the Registry contact me and give me the Consumers’ contact information?
NO. The Consumers are the ones responsible for contacting the providers from the list of available providers given to them by the Registry. Occasionally, and at the request of some Consumers, the Registry will call you and ask you to contact a specific Consumer. Otherwise, it is the Consumers who will contact you.
What should I do if I do not receive any calls from Consumers after 30 days?
You should contact the Registry, and inform the staff that you are still available to work and are still looking to find a job. As policy, you are required to update your availability for work every 30 days while you are looking for work.
How should I update my availability for work? Can I update online?
YES. You can update your availability for work at https://la.ihsspa.org by following the log-in and updating instructions. You may also send us an email to info@pascla.org informing us of your availability to work or lack thereof. A third way to update your availability for work is by calling us at 877-565-4477, option 2, and option 2 again. If you are unable to speak to a representative live, please leave a message indicating the days of the week and times of day that you are available to work, and your availability will be updated.
What happens if I am referred to multiple Consumers, but I do not take a job?
We will put you on our list of providers who are not actively looking for work. You can change this status by simply calling us and letting us know if and when you are available to work again.
What should I do if I find a job through the Registry or elsewhere?
You should call us and let us know the name of the Consumer who hired you, the date you started/will start working, and whether you will need to be referred to other Consumers.
Can I contact the Registry again if and when I need to find another Consumer?
YES. Once you join the Registry, you remain a Registry participant as long as you continue to be eligible under IHSS guidelines. With this in mind, you can call the Registry whenever you need to find a new Consumer.
What should I do if I my address or telephone number changes?
You should inform the IHSS Program and PASC Homecare Registry whenever you change your address or telephone number.
